STORIED. The Dead Session

March 8 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

THE BERMAN is excited to present STORIED, a unique new cultural arts series at The J Detroit focused on sharing the Jewish narrative about some of the most legendary artists.

STORIED is back at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts for its third session: The Dead Session. Join us for an extraordinary concert experience that delves into the rich tapestry of Jewish culture and its connections to the legendary band, the Grateful Dead. This unique event promises to weave together music, storytelling, and community, celebrating the profound influence and contributions of Jewish artists and fans to the iconic rock band’s legacy.

The concert will feature an array of talented musicians who will perform beloved Grateful Dead songs while sharing personal narratives and historical insights. This concert will spotlight different aspects of Jewish identity as it intersects with the band’s ethos, exploring themes of community, spirituality, and resilience.

“Music has always been a bridge between cultures, and the Grateful Dead’s music resonates deeply throughout the Jewish experience,” says Benji Rosenzweig, STORIED. Co-Creator and host of the evening. “We are excited to continue creating a space where these stories can be heard and celebrated through the universal language of music.”

This unforgettable evening promises a journey through music and storytelling as we honor the bonds between Jewish culture and the Grateful Dead. In a setting similar to MTV _ Unplugged _meets VH1 Storytellers , the band and Benji will go back and forth between storytelling and music.

Don’t miss out on this third session of STORIED, a concert series audiences are raving about: “This program was great. The music was AMAZING.
