BETTER TOGETHER, LOVE AND KINDNESS IN JUDAISM with Rabbi Tzvi Muller In-Person I Max M. Fisher Federation Building
MONDAYS, NOON – 1 PM Nov. 4, 11, 18; Dec. 2, 9, 16
The world is desperately in need of more kindness. As Jews, we are often the targets of the most virulent hatred and cruelty. However, we must prioritize bringing love and goodness into a world that is seriously lacking compassion. Connect back to the source of Judaism’s values of love and kindness in our effort to bring about a universal healing. We will explore the primary Jewish texts regarding the application of this mitzvah in real life. • What are the attitudes, emotions and behaviors that love requires? • How do we develop those attitudes, emotions and behavior tendencies? • Can, and should, we love others equally to ourselves? • Should we love people who do bad things? • What is self-love and is it included in this mitzvah? • Why is this mitzvah considered the greatest principle of Judaism?
