A program of the nationally accredited JCC Day Camps

Teen camps are offered to those rising seventh graders through rising ninth graders for TBD price. Teens spend their summers relaxing and socializing while going off-site to visit places such as Dave & Busters, TreeRunner Adventure Park, the Detroit Zoo, DEFY and more. Teens also can gain skills in the kitchen during Cooking Camp, play a variety of sports in our Sports Camp, and give back to their community through Peercorps Camp.

Our staff members are selected based on experience, ability to work with this age group and supervisory skills. Transportation to off-site locations is provided by camp buses with professional drivers.

Week 1 (6/22-6/26)- Peer Corps 1

Join PeerCorps Detroit for a week of transformational service experiences! Live our Jewish value of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world, by volunteering with local organizations and learning about important issues impacting our community, like hunger, housing insecurity, and environmental sustainability. PeerCorps Camp participants will also have the opportunity to participate in camp activities like swimming, games, and so much more!  At the end of each week, each teen will receive a certificate for service hours worked.

Week 2 (6/29-7/3) – Around The Town Camp

Get ready to jump on the bus and explore! Some places we may visit are Sky Zone, Dave and Busters, The Detroit Zoo, and other fun places around the Metro Detroit area.  Each day will be a different destination. Transportation and all fees are included.

Week 3 (7/6-7/10)- Baking Camp

Welcome to the Great JCC Day Camps Baking Show! Whether cakes or cookies, pies or more… join us for baking GALORE! Each day will be different techniques, including following a recipe, using a mixer, oven times, kneading, rolling and shaping dough! This fun experience will be put to good use at the end of the week for our bake-off. We will have a competition with guest judges to award winners and it just might be you!

Week 4 (7/16-7/17)- Adventure Camp

Test your skills at all different adventure locations, chasing adrenaline and fun throughout the Metro-Detroit area! Each day will be a different adventure such as a water park, ropes course, and more. Transportation and all fees are included.

Week 5 (7/20-7/24)- Art Camp

Week 6 (7/27-7/31)- Adventure Camp

 Test your skills at all different adventure locations, chasing adrenaline and fun throughout the Metro-Detroit area! Each day will be a different adventure such as a water park, ropes course, and more. Transportation and all fees are included.

Week 7 (8/3-8/7) – Restaurant Camp            

Whether you dream of owning a restaurant that serves burgers and fries, or of running a gourmet bistro in Paris, this camp is certain to be a tasty treat. Campers will name their restaurant, plan their own menus, and cook up delicious meals for family and friends who are invited to enjoy at the restaurant’s “Grand Opening” on Friday. It is sure to be a fun and exciting experience for everyone!

Week 8 (8/10-8/14)- Around the Town Camp
