Creative Mending with Rachel Brunhild

Join artist and educator Rachel Brunhild for a hands-on workshop exploring the art of creative mending. Creative mending is a mindful, sustainable practice that transforms worn or damaged textiles into one-of-a-kind art pieces using visible stitching, patching, and decorative embroidery techniques. Rather than hiding tears, holes, or stains, this approach celebrates an item’s story by turning repairs into striking visual features.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own clothing or fabric items in need of care—such as denim, or woven garments. All necessary mending tools and materials will be provided, though students are welcome to bring their own supplies or specialty fabrics if they wish. Whether you are looking to extend the life of a favorite garment or learn creative stitchwork, you will leave with practical skills and a renewed piece to wear with pride.
