Scholars in Session: Before the PARADE-The Leo Frank Story featuring Professor Howard Lupovitch
February 2, 2025 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Broadway In Detroit is bringing the Tony Award-winning musical PARADE to the Fisher Theatre, February 25 – March 9, 2025. In anticipation of this riveting and gloriously hopeful production, Professor Howard Lupovitch leads an important discussion on the true story of Leo and Lucille Frank, a newlywed Jewish couple struggling to make a life in the old red hills of Georgia. When Leo is accused of an unspeakable crime, it propels them into an unimaginable test of faith, humanity, justice, and devotion. PARADE __reminds us that to love, we must truly see one another. Get to know how the people and events depicted on stage merge and diverge from history – and be sure not to miss this remarkable discussion on the still- shocking events that formed the basis for the musical.
All attendees to this program will receive a discount code for Fisher Theatre tickets to PARADE.
Dr. Howard Lupovitch is Professor of History and Director of the Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies at Wayne State University, as well as an accomplished author.
Presented by SAJE (Seminars for Adult Jewish Enrichment). Co-Sponsored by ADL Michigan and Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies at Wayne State University
