With a handful of venues to choose from, plus a professional event staff, you’ll enjoy a first-class experience every time you rent The J. All spaces are connected by an 1,800 square-foot lobby and our wonderful, self-service café called “The Porch.” We can also provide alcohol and beverage service with a full selection of liquor, wine, and beer, linen service, and a friendly host staff.
Our venues
Opened in 2011, through the generosity of Bill and Madge Berman, The Berman Center for the Performing Arts is a world-class theatre space, equipped with state-of-the-art technology. With its 600-seat capacity, The Berman is the perfect size to produce a full-blown Broadway-style production, yet still feel an intimate connection between performers and audience.
The Berman has hosted musicals, concerts, children’s theatre, lectures, films, dance competitions, recitals, magic shows, the list goes on. If you need a beautiful theater with unlimited capabilities, The Berman is the place!

Our gorgeous Handleman Hall is our 6,000 square-foot banquet facility. You and a few hundred of your friends can enjoy a wedding reception, bar/bat mitzvah or lecture in this stunning room. A rental of Handleman Hall comes with access to seating for hundreds, mics, podiums, projectors, modular stages and dance floors. We also have an extendable wall that can separate our hall into two sections, creating what we call “one-third” and “two-thirds” Handleman, offering a choice between large and intimate spaces.
Our Conference Center has a selection of six private rooms located steps away from our main entrance. They can be separated into individual areas for small meetings, or opened up to accommodate larger groups. Each room can be equipped with projector and screen or our 85″ touchscreen smartboard ready for any presentation. If you seek a secluded spot for your next event, our Conference Center is the right move.
Just off our comfortable and stylish lobby is the Greenberg Suite. It is a bright and comfortable meeting room, perfect for small parties and events. Add our smartboard, a 65-inch monitor with an integrated computer, and your next seminar is sure to be a success.
The Janice Charach Gallery is a bright, open, airy space with two levels lit by gorgeous skylights. Housing regularly rotating art exhibitions, the Charach Gallery is the ideal spot to host a lecture, brunch or exposition. Complete with projector and screen, and full sound capabilities, the Janice Charach Gallery will add an air of elegance to your next gathering.

Indoor
If your next event requires a little more action and the ability to quicken the heartbeat, The J has that covered as well. We offer an impressive list of facilities, including two in-line hockey rinks, basketball courts, a volleyball court, an Olympic running track, an intimate well-appointed gym, plus the staff and resources necessary to bring smiles to everyone.
Outdoor
When the weather cooperates, there’s nothing better than getting the friends, family or office together to enjoy some fresh air. JRec boasts three outdoor pavilions in a beautiful, forested setting, perfect for an intimate gathering of friends and family or a lively company picnic for you and a few hundred coworkers. Plus, we have a recently renovated pool complete with a well-stocked snack bar, just waiting for you to soak up some rays.
As an added bonus: Our neighbor, Epic Kosher Catering has residence in the kitchen just behind Handleman Hall. They can provide delicious meals and desserts, catered with care to your exact preference.
