SUMMARY:LUNCH WITH THE AUTHORS featuring Jacqueline Friedland and Tova Mirvis
DESCRIPTION:Featuring authors Jacqueline Friedland and Tova Mirvis \nIn **_Counting Backwards_** by Jacqueline Friedland\, Jessica Gidney’s quest\nfor justice in a routine immigration case draws her into the heart of an\nabhorrent conspiracy and a shocking legacy. As she uncovers her ties to a\nheartbreaking past\, her life takes a dramatic turn in this emotionally\nriveting novel inspired by true events. Counting Backwards is a compelling\,\nmoving story of two remarkable women that you’ll remember for years to come. \n**_We Would Never_** by Tova Mirvis is a riveting literary page turner that\nmaps the extremes to which a family will go in to protect their own. Inspired\nby a true story\, We Would Never is a gripping mystery\, compassionate family\ndrama\, and a provocative exploration of loyalty\, betrayal\, and the blurred\nline between protecting and forsaking the ones we love most. We Would Never\nexplores how love and hate can intertwine and turn deadly. \n**Pre-registration required.**\n**In-person at The J **ticketed event: $40. Enjoy 20% off each author’s book\nwhen purchased with your lunch ticket. Book signing following talk.\n**Registration Deadline: **Thursday\, November 6 \n**Silver Book Sponsor: **West Bloomfield Township Public Library\n**Bronze Book Sponsor:** National Council of Jewish Women\, Michigan \nView event on Jlive: https://jlive.app/events/12809

I’m Leah. Oftentimes kids and teens’ feelings are invalidated or told\nthat what they are experiencing is “not a big deal.” That can be very\nfrustrating\, especially as a teen! My goal as a clinical social worker is to\nhelp people\, no matter their age\, work through their trauma\, anxieties\, and\nlife struggles. I understand how trauma and life experiences can shape a child\nor teen’s life which is why I am so passionate about helping youth through\nthese vulnerable years. Growing up with constant access to tech and social\nmedia\, especially during unprecedented times\, is very tough! I want to support\nyou through it all. \n**Brooke Bendix\, AM\, LCSW** is the founder of Therapyology and a Licensed\nClinical Social Worker who specializes in individual and group therapy for\nkids\, teens and adults. Brooke has over 16 years of clinical experience\,\ntraining\, and education in the field of social work and child development.
