SUMMARY:Ada Twist\, Scientist & Friends
DESCRIPTION:Ada Twist\, Scientist & Friends\, A THEATERWORKSUSA Production\, is a fun\nmusical based on the books Rosie Revere\, Engineer; Iggy Peck\, Architect; and\nAda Twist Scientist by Andrea Beaty\, which spotlights the STEM curriculum\n(focusing on science\, technology\, engineering and math). \nMs. Greer’s classroom includes three inquisitive out-of-the-box thinkers.\nRosie Revere has big dreams\, Iggy Peck has a relentless passion for\narchitecture\, and Ada Twist’s curiosity can drive her teacher crazy. On a\nfield trip gone awry\, they are faced with the ultimate test of their problem-\nsolving skills that can only be conquered with teamwork. Recommended for ages\n4-9. \nAda Twist\, Scientist & Friends is written by Lauren Gunderson\, the most\nproduced living playwright in the U.S. (book)\, Bree Lowdermilk (music)\, and\nKait Kerrigan (lyrics)\, and based on the book series by Andrea Beaty and\nillustrated by David Roberts. The original creative team includes direction by\nPeter Flynn\, choreography by Marcos Santana (Broadway: Rocky\, Associate\nChoreographer)\, orchestrations by Lloyd Kikoler\, original music direction by\nDan Garmon; set design by Anne Mundell\, and costume design by Jenifer Caprio. \nABOUT THEATERWORKSUSA\nTheaterWorksUSA has led the Theater for Young and Family Audiences movement in\nNew York City and across North America for over half a century. At TWUSA\, we\nbelieve that access to art—and theater\, in particular—is vital for our youth.\nSince 1961\, the 501(c)3 not-for-profit has captured the imaginations of 100\nmillion new and veteran theatergoers with an award-winning repertoire of over\n140 original plays and musicals. \nAcclaimed alumni include Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (Disney’s\nFrozen)\, Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent)\, Jerry Zaks (The Music Man)\, Benj\nPasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen)\, Miguel Cervantes (Hamilton) \,\nKathleen Chalfant (Angels in America)\, and Chuck Cooper (Tony award winning\nactor\, The Life). \nPrior to suspending live production due to the pandemic\, TWUSA’s 2019-2020\nseason included touring eleven shows around the country\, the Broadway premiere\nof The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musica l and three world\npremieres: Warriors Don’t Cry \, based on the autobiography of Melba\nPattillo Beals; Dog Man: The Musical Off-Broadway; and The Pout-\nPout Fish which opened the New Victory Theater’s season in October 2019.\nVisit www.TWUSA.org for more information. \nPhoto by Jeremy Daniel.
