This election is no exception; the choice this time\nfeels extraordinarily difficult. In these two sessions\, we will try to look\npast the never-ending campaign rhetoric and place the complexities of this\nchoice in a broader historical perspective and context. \nSession 1: Israel  \nWhat aspects of the political landscape of the last half-century have impelled\npoliticians in the two parties to be more or less supportive of the State of\nIsrael? How have events since October 7 altered this landscape? \nSession 2: Competing Visions of America: What does each mean for Jews?\nWhat do conflicting views of specific issues such as a woman’s right to choose\nand reproductive freedom and the broader issue of the erosion of democracy\,\nmean for Jews? How do we navigate the situation in which our political allies\nare antisemitic or allied with antisemites? \nJoin Howard and JLearn for this timely and important presentation.
